My Story
A Licensed Professional Here to Guide You
“The South Schuyler Counseling Story:”
It was January 13, 2019, when I left my previous job to start South Schuyler Counseling that was scheduled to open February 4. A week later, my car went down, so I had to give that back which at the same time ended my Uber job. While all this was happening, I still planned on opening on the 4th, but with no money.
Opening with just 20 clients, there was no way I was able to pay for the business and my home, so yes, I gave up my home to keep the business. After a month of living out of my office, the business continued to go between 20-30 clients a week. Yes, I was worried, but I continued to tell myself, “You just opened. People have to know you exist, the community has to know you exist. Stay cool.”
Ten months in, the business started to pick up by going from 20-30 clients to 30-50 clients a week. After I was able to find a place to live, the business continued to soar, so much so that I had to move to a bigger suite. Then to a much bigger suite with more office and waiting room space.
Now, I can honestly say that I am 3 months booked out with a waitlist four pages long with people from all over the state of Illinois calling for my services. Not only was I able to get everything back that I lost, but I was also able to give holiday discounts, and I am able provide pro bono sessions for those in need. Man, when they say “sacrifice” pays off, it really does pay off. Just saying!
Feedback I’ve Received
Patient Experiences
"We absolutely love William. He has been a total blessing to us. We have never felt more comfortable with him and he TRULY is an advocate for my children. I would never trust my children with anyone else."

"I was skeptical about starting therapy but was at a point in my life where I knew I could benefit. I did some research and found William at South Schuyler. I’ve been seeing him for about a year now and I can’t imagine having any other therapist! I’ve felt so comfortable since day one! I recommend William and therapy to everyone because of how amazing my experience has been. I’ve grown so much as a person in the past year and I am so thankful."

"Dealing with trauma isn't easy and it can also be difficult to decide to seek counseling for it; once I decided to get counseling I thought the hard part was over just to be faced with finding a counselor nearby who's taking on new clients along with other challenges; I found Counselor Lacy online and saw that he was nearby so that was a great start but I still needed to know if he was accepting new clients and about payment; I made the call got an appointment my insurance was accepted and been going for several months now; starting the process of being seen by him was effortless, but speaking to him during my sessions is the best part. He has helped me see things differently and he has given me tools to stay on task as I'm working through things"
